What are Longitudinal Waves?
In simple words, longitudinal waves are that type of wave motion in which the displacement of the medium is in the same direction to which the wave is moving. This means that particle movement of the wave will be parallel to direction of the energy motion.
Example of Longitudinal Wave: A few example of longitudinal waves are sound waves, pressure waves, etc.
What are Transverse Waves?
A transverse wave is the type of wave motion in which the oscillating particles are perpendicular to the direction of motion of energy.
Example of Transverse Waves: A few examples of transverse waves include electromagnetic waves, string vibrations, etc.
