There are mainly 4 types of soil which are explained in this video. The main 4 soil types are sandy soil, silt soil, clay soil, and loamy soil. These classification of soil are mainly based on the texture, proportions and different forms of organic and mineral compositions.
Details about the different Soil Types:
1. Sandy Soil: The sandy soil consists of small weathered rock particles and are not suitable for growing plants as it has less nutrients and poor water holding capabilities.
2. Silt Soil: Silt soil has smaller rock and mineral particles than sand and are mainly found near rivers, lakes, and water bodies. This soil is fertile and are used in agriculture.
3. Clay Soil (Clayey Soil): Clay soil is the heaviest and densest soil type and its particles are the smallest. It has good water storage capabilities and is extremely sticky.
4. Loamy Soil: The last soil type is loamy soil and is the combination of sand, silt, and clay soils. It is the best soil for agriculture and is often referred as agricultural soil.
